Lee Anderson's Bio

A published writer, singer-songwriter, and photographer, Lee Anderson can’t be classified as anything but a true artist.  He’s a brazen performer that takes pride in making sure his audiences always get their money’s worth… and then some.  To catch a Lee Anderson show means you’d better be prepared to raise hell, make some noise, and party ‘til closing time.  He is a singer and musician cut from the “Outlaw” mold with a Lone Star attitude!  Established Nashville session guitarist, Forrest Lee Jr. will tell you flat out, “Lee is the best front man I’ve ever worked with”.

Songwriting since the age of 12, Lee has wrote about every form of country song imaginable, but he’ll be the first one to tell you that his best song is one that he hasn’t even written yet.  To him, there’s always something new and exciting on the horizon, and tapping into the Texas Country music scene is that next step.

His first CD release, “Life On The Fence” released in May 1999, and he began regularly playing west coast clubs, fairs, and festivals.  Later in July 1999, he signed with Nashville insider Gary Bradshaw and Western Heart Promotions.  Beginning in August, “Life On The Fence” received widespread airplay and climbed the Indie charts in over 18 European countries, Australia, and the U.S.; a total of over 170 radio stations.  In late August, “Life On The Fence” debuted at #13 on the European Country Charts and the next week soared to #2 where it remained in the slot for an additional two weeks.  In total, the CD stayed on various country charts around the world until March 2000.

Now making his home in Fort Worth, Lee is currently in the process of releasing his long awaited follow-up CD “South Padre Sand.”  The new recordings are a compilation of personal songs written with Texas in mind.  Nearly every song on “South Padre” was with his great friend and Nashville session player/producer Forrest Lee Jr.  Featured artists include Forrest, and two of Texas’s finest with the incomparable Redd Volkaert on lead guitar, and Don Pawlak of Dale Watson's Lonestars on pedal steel.  The CD showcases a wide variety of musical styles that doesn’t focus on pop-country love songs.  Rather “South Padre” is about living life to the fullest… to include all of the fun, heartbreak, and honky tonkin’ hangovers that come with it.
